“The important thing is having fun and never give up”

Francesco’s story

Francesco was born in Cosenza on September the 26th 2008 and two days after his birth he had his right leg amputated due to amniotic flukes.

Everyone describes him as a sweet and cheerful child and, despite his parents’ initial bewilderment at the moment of his birth, everything has always been lived in a very natural way because his twin sister Beatrice has always accompanied him in his growth.

For the time being, Francesco wants to have fun playing football: his favorite sports character is Paulo Dybala, in his opinion the best footballer ever. He can’t wait to start running on a real athletics track, in the meantime he keeps running and scoring goals!

His parents, after hearing Alex Zanardi, Bebe Vio and Giusy Versace’s stories, realized that sport could really help Francesco and came to know about art4sport after seeing Bebe on “La Vita in diretta”.

They confessed to us that for Francesco and his little twin Beatrice, taking part in the Rome 2016 Games Without Barriers was a powerful and positive experience!

European Para Youth Games 2022 in Pajulahti – Finland (June/July 2022):

  • 100 m cat. T64 (U17): gold medal
  • He was the Italian National flag-bearer at the Opening Ceremony of the EPYG
