Giuliana Chiara’s story
Giuliana Chiara was born on 16 September 2005 in Trento without her right foot due to a malformation.
Ever since she was a child, she has always been stubborn and headstrong, and it is this temperament that has helped her to overcome the crises that would occasionally arise along the way.
Over the years she has practiced many disciplines, always in their Olympic version: ballet, modern dance, volleyball and swimming. One day, however, the turning point came: her junior high school PE teacher, Massimo Gioberge, saw in her a ‘mindset’ for athletics and persuaded her to try out!
In 2020, not being able to see the results she had hoped for in athletics, she was beginning to lose heart until, thanks to a member of her club, she managed to get in touch with Fispes, the federation to which Paralympic athletics belongs. This is where she got to know art4sport and met Teresa and Ruggero, the President and Vice-President.
In the short term Giuliana would like to improve her personal best in the 100 mt and in the long term she is already aiming for the Paralympic Games in Paris 2024!
The sports personality she most admires is Jessie Owens because he proved that differences cannot stop us!
Giuliana Chiara has joined art4sport in 2021: the Association will be able to help and support her in her future sporting choices.
