“Everything’s possible”

Margherita’s story

Margherita was born in Vittorio Veneto on July the 1st 2006 and now lives in Falzé di Piave in the province of Treviso with her mother, father and brother Matteo, who is two years younger.

She was born with a missing left forearm and hand. This malformation was diagnosed when her mother was six months pregnant. The feelings and sensations that followed when the parents found out were many: from fear, to anguish, to despair. But then Margherita’s birth was a wonderful moment for everyone, including the doctors and nurses, which magically dissolved all doubts.

Margherita has always been a serene, sunny and resourceful child.

The words that sum up Margherita are tenacity and independence. It is because of these two wonderful qualities that she manages to achieve everything she sets her mind to. She loves playing with her brother and friends, riding her bike, roller-skating, walking in the mountains and going to the cinema.

Her latest challenge is that she wanted to learn to play the piano and has been studying it for a few years now with surprising results.

Besides school, Margherita loves sport in general, practicing taekwondo, skiing and swimming.

Margherita is a member of the art4sport team, which gives her the opportunity, through sport, to meet other young people with disabilities. This has been very important for her and will certainly be a positive and constructive aspect for her future.

The help Margherita has had and is having from the Association is that of being able to share the various knowledge and experiences with the other youngsters in the team. What the older children are able to give to the younger ones is something wonderful. Margherita believes that unity is strength and therefore it is the union of every member of the art4sport team that makes strength!
