100 metres gold for Ambra!

The Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games ended with a crazy day for Ambra Sabatini and for all Italian athletics!

In the first heat of the semifinals of the 100 metres category T63, Ambra took first place with a time of 14.39, setting a new world record. Shortly afterwards, however, in the second heat, her teammate Martina Caironi managed to lower the world record by another two tenths to 14.37.

In the final, Ambra Sabatini, Martina Caironi and Monica Contraffatto were at the starting blocks together. The three women managed to dominate the race ahead of the other athletes: in the blink of an eye the podium was tinged with the Italian colours!

Ambra, with a time of 14.11, won the gold medal and broke the world record again, followed by Martina and Monica! An unforgettable race that will go down in history!

Girls, you made us live a dream!
