Alessandro’s story
Alessandro was born in April 10th 2004 in Rome.
On the evening of May 16th 2019, while coming back home from sport training by scooter with his father, Alessandro was involved in a car accident that resulted in the amputation of his left leg.
At the very first moment he was shocked, in pain and confused and so was his father who witnessed to crash, then Alessandro asked himself why this happened to him. Despite that he gave proof of strength and serenity at the hospital, extremely important features for encourage his whole family.
His characteristics traits are stubbornness, independence and resilience as he’s always in the mood for doing something and moments of discouragement are very rare. The sport he used to play and still wants to practice is basketball. Basketball player he admires the most is Lebron James because in addition to his talent he has always shown tenacity and continuity
Alessandro aspire to make his story known in order to show that everyone can rise up. He’s also aiming at participate to the Paralympic Games but most of all he would love to encourage as many disabled kids as possible to begin a sports trail.
Alessandro and his parents heard about art4sport through Youtube and Bebe’s show La vita è una figata then they decided to contact the Association. When in June 2019 Alessandro took part to his first art4sport event, Giochi Senza Barriere, just three weeks later his accident, he declared ‘’I do believe and I do want that this new condition of mine could turn into a new opportunity for me’’. He is part of the art4sport team since October 2019: Association will help him to find some peace of mind, compare himself with other people, let him to accept the challenges life will put him through and give him all the means he will need to continue his sports trail.

European Para Youth Games 2022 in Pajulahti – Finland (June/July 2022)
- Gold medal with the National wheelchair basketball team
2020/2021 season
- Plays for the Santa Lucia team in A and B League
- Plays in the Italian National team Under 22
2019/2020 season
- Played for the Saint Lucia team in the A and B series
November 2019
- Received the “Basket and Courage” award as part of the 2019 Basket Awards
December 2019
- Was called up by the Under 22 National Team for a training camp
