Chitra was born in Trichy (India) on March 13th, 2012, without 2/3 of her forearm and left hand. Her parents first met her in 2014 at the age of two through adoption.
She is a little girl always dynamic, proactive, full of willingness to do, and from very beginning she was aware of her missing “little piece.” She constantly challenges herself to prove herself equal to others: she is sunny, cheerful, exuberant and headstrong!
She shows, from an early age, a good predisposition for sports activities and, among the various disciplines she tried, at age 5 she came across downhill skiing: it was “love at first sight”! From that moment on, she never let go of the skis!
It is her maternal grandfather who at first literally puts her on skis, teaches her, follows her and sets her up until she is able to join and be a permanent member of a ski club, participating in Fisi competitions.
In 2021 Chitra also enters the world of Paralympic skiing, successfully participating in a few Fisip competitions, ending the season with a victory at the Italian Championships.
