“All different but all the same”

Claudia’s story

Claudia was born on February 1st 1999 in Padua, where she lives with her family.

Claudia’s parents already knew in the pre-natal phase that their daughter would be born with a malformation in her right hand, but after an initial period of shock, as they were at their first experience as parents, they managed to deal with the situation with determination and positivity!

Although she has had some difficulties over the years, Claudia is a wonderful teenager who lives her condition with complete normality. It is the knowledge of having such a good daughter that has given her parents support and strength.

Claudia’s desire to play sport is natural, so much that at the age of ten she began to practice fencing.

She then stopped and has been studying ballet for four years with her teacher Paola Miotto.

She thus succeeded in realizing her greatest dream: dance in a tutu on stage. The following year she even brought a ballet to the stage on tiptoe.

Her aim in the short term is to get better and better.

The sportswomen she admires most are Valentina Vezzali, whom Claudia considers a great champion, and Simona Atzori, whom she considers a very good dancer and person, she did not give up in spite of any obstacles to become the woman she wanted to be.

Claudia is now part of the art4sport team: the art4sport ONLUS Association will help her to achieve her goals, as she says: “By making me realize that I am not different actually I am like everyone else”.
