Filippo’s story
Filippo was born in Rimini on 20 April 2001.
In 2017 he was struck down by meningococcal sepsis, which resulted in the amputation of both lower limbs below the knee.
Initially, his feelings were of fear and pain: Filippo was frightened and confused but his will to live and fight made even his parents, who called him a phenomenon, react. The changes in his life were only on the practical side because Filippo has to move around in a wheelchair.
As soon as he woke up, his biggest wish was to play Frisbee again, with the intention of being able to participate in the European and World U20 Championships.
He graduated in June 2020 and is currently enrolled in the three-year faculty of business communication and public relations at IULM in Milan; here he attends the marketing and communication course.
His parents got to know art4sport through mutual friends and now Filippo is more motivated and willing to make new experiences.
Filippo has been part of art4sport since October 2018: he hopes that the Association can give him technical and moral support.
