Obsa’s story
Obsa was born on 26 October 2013 in Ethiopia without his left arm below the elbow due to a malformation.
He lived for a year in an Italian reception centre in Addis Ababa and shortly after, at the age of one and a half, he arrived in Italy with his new family.
Obsa is an independent, sunny and generous child, but the word that best represents him is ‘energy’. He has always lived his amputation with great naturalness and has always been independent and willing to try new experiences.
He started playing sports when he was five years old and tried out many sports before taking up athletics: swimming, football, basketball and skiing.
The athlete he admires most is Riccardo Bagaini of the art4sport team because he “runs fast and is good at studying”.
In the short term, Obsa would like to try long jump and running and, later on, he would like to be able to jump to the line with 8 written on it… and then go to the Paralympic Games!
His parents got to know art4sport through Bebe’s social profile.
Obsa has been part of art4sport since 2021: the Association will be able to introduce him to new special friends.
