Pas de deux

Nicoletta Tinti. Rhythmic Gymnastics Olympic Champion. Engineer. Teacher. Dancer. “Life has decided for me”. One Monday morning in 2008 a big change took place. A sudden hernia permanently compromised her spinal cord and half of her body stopped responding.
From that day on, another adventure began: she had to learn from scratch how to relate to the world with her new body.
Diversity – it is a condition that can happen without warning. When one is not ready. Without being able to choose.

A path made of determination, a desire to express herself through dance, and the support of the friendship she struck with Silvia Bertoluzza.
Nicoletta dances with Silvia creating a unique pas de deux, one of them uses her torso whilst the other lends her legs. “Each one of us has limits, some are visible, some invisible, we all have them. But the first step to overcome them is awareness and acceptance. This is the only way life can start again,” explains Nicoletta Tinti.

A new life, brightened by new possibilities with the creation of Compagnia InOltre, a dance company with 4 dancers and 5 musicians performing in Italy and abroad. InOltre is a story with intertwining plots, with overwhelming energy and different experiences; they have all had a life, a past, but what becomes the backbone of the Dance Academy is the link to the present to conquer and discover a different future. It means going beyond, with no limit, thanks to art that is part of the individual who is trying to reach something beyond…
